All companies have business ethics of some kind, but the best companies have written and clearly outlined values that every employer knows and lives by every day. Moreover, employees should know what they are and should know how to work by those values constantly.

Codes of ethics are common to many businesses, but the words written in a formal code are useful only if their purpose is displayed in the actions of employees who represent the business.
